The Corvair link is very interesting. Last century, I was involved with
the Formula Air racing boys. I'm sure that Steve Thompson's Cassutt racer,
which was either a C90 or 0-200 , was rated on the dyno at 118 HP. I have
the old newsletters around here somewhere hiding which I'll try to find
tomorrow. That may have been a hybrid engine, but I'm sure it was bolt on
power. They were very weight conscious.
