Re: Tail post - Tail Spring?

Dan, I thought the same thing.

The original tail spring that we had was a solid 'pultruded' rod of fiberglass and resin. There were so many accounts of snapped tail springs from inadvertent ground loops that I went over to the Dragonfly style tail spring which is nearly oval in shape and provides greater sectional modulas (stiffness) in the later direction to resist failure.

John, you need to use a solid piece of material not a hollow tube such as a bicycle part. Not sure at this point where to find the Dragon fly tail spring but I'm sure a Dragonfly builder can tell us.

I can send PIX of my installation if interested.

Hi John

There is no tail post.

The fin (vert stab) is built
like the main wing with spar caps on both sides, and then floxed into a
slot in the tailcone.
Do you not have the so called 'building
instruction's ?'

Subject: [Q-LIST] Tail post

Hi all
Can anybody tell me what the
original tail post was made from as I didn`t receive one in the kit that
I have.
Are there any plans around so I may be able to construct one,
or could I use something like a carbon fibre seat post from a push
bike?
Thanks Ray.
