Patrick - I have never landed on grass, nor will I ever.  I know a couple of guys have, but it just seems like a bad idea, for me at least.  For one, I think it would cause too much drag on the wheels, thus extending the takeoff.

I am sure there are exceptions, but I just wouldn't chance it.

Do you have a taildragger or Tri-Q?  Tri-Q might fare better.

Wow...I was thinking that mine was already kinda "hot" with approach speed of 75ish...MPH (with bellyflap). Didnt realize that  I should have been expressing gratitude. So has anyone some insights grass field operations? One of the places where I am considering keeping my bird in the future is a well-manicured turf strip in South Florida (Richard's Field).
