Patrick - I have never landed on grass, nor will I ever. I know a couple of guys have, but it just seems like a bad idea, for me at least. For one, I think it would cause too much drag on the wheels, thus extending the takeoff.
I am sure there are exceptions, but I just wouldn't chance it.
Do you have a taildragger or Tri-Q? Tri-Q might fare better.
