Tail wheel geometry

From Mike D.s posting: http://www.pielandings.com/q200/tailwheel.html The only reason I have my tailwheel directly in trail is to minimize drag and I believe there is a penalty in handling. I have even considered going to a smaller diameter wheel.
I once taxied Jim Patillio's Q-200 around and it handled better than mine.
