Re: One Week until the FOD Flyin!

Paul,

Wish I could make it, I am deep into repairs, hopefully next year.

Forced landing flew it down to a hay field with 10" of frozen snow crust. The high speed taxi did not go well. No one hurt, no property damage, landing gear and horizontal stabilizer right side damaged. A most likely a design problem of my own creation as there is no plan for a Corvair powered Dragonfly. Still learning.

Have fun and stay safe.

I hope all of the rest of you are as excited as I am!  The Field of Dreams Tandem Wing flyin is next weekend in Davenport Iowa (KDVN).  Could I see a show of hands of who is planning to attend?  I need to make sure we've got enough food and drinks.  I realize weather (or motorcycles?!?) may still play a factor in whether or not you can actually make it, so at this point I'm just looking for intent.  Send me a note privately or here on the list so I can count heads.

Here's my plan (such as it is):
  •  Friday morning - get the hangar opened up for arrivals
  •  Friday noon - fly out to Muscatine (KMUT ~30 miles) for lunch
  •  Friday night - Dinner at Lynn's BBQ - same place as last year
  •  Saturday morning - more arrivals, flying, and bad jokes (right Kevin?)
  •  Saturday afternoon - cookout at the hangar - similar to last year (nobody went hungry!)
  •  Saturday evening - Ice Cream social at the hangar (since everyone is still full from the cookout!)
  • Sunday - departures and a safe flight home for everyone

So fly in or drive in, just get here.  This may be the only place you will see this many tandem wing aircraft (maybe 15?) in the same spot!
