Re: N169W soft fuel tank

Provided the builder used the proper white foam, it is impervious to fuel. It's very possible that the previous owner stepped on the fuel tank, more than once, and softened up the foam. Do a tap test and mark off the soft area and send some good photos.

If you're lucky, you might get away with just injecting microslurry. Tearing out a whole fuel tank sounds like a terrible job.

So i started wrenching on N169W ( going to have to think of nickname). Looking and dissembling. Things are coming apart ok. Im to the aileron tubes so well see how that goes. One thing i notices was a big soft spot on the top of the fuel tank on pilots side. Now being its the fuel tank would it be better just to take the time and remove and rebuild? My guess is theres fuel intrusion and ate the foam out. Or take the easy approach and try and repair where its damaged.
