Well the weather finally cooperated with my
schedule and I got in my first flight of the new year
yesterday. It was a beautiful day to fly. It was high hazy
overcast to broken, providing some beautiful diffuse lighting.
Clear and very calm 2 degrees C.
I headed south from my home valley to the
area of Delta, a town 40 miles south. It was also beautiful
down there. Could not believe that nearly no one was flying.
Such a nice day for it and no traffic. Oh well, their loss.
There was no snow in the valleys but very scenic fresh snow on
the Elk Mountain range. I posted a photo below.
Returned back to my home field of Mack Mesa
and made a perfect pattern and squeaker landing, so all is
good in the valley.
Then I met up later in the morning with a
few “geology” friends and took a hike in a canyon near my
home. Beautiful from the air and from the ground, so here’s
another photo from the ground level for you to enjoy. Jon F.
gets these shots from the air, but not me.
Happy New Year all and get ‘em flying if
you are not already.
