I got in two flights this weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday. It was beautiful calm air and cold for both. Good performance and good fun.

Today was -5 degrees C so was flying with DA well below ground elevation MSL. Not very often that I get to fly at the lower density altitudes and in my own airspace. I am attaching a link to a short video that I put together so you can see the snow covered peaks north of our valley. In this video there is a short clip of the panel.  You can see from the EFIS that, since I am able to close the cowl flaps completely, I can pull the power back to 2800 rpm and am doing 150 mph TAS and burning 5.3 gph (~50% power). This is economical for me. It may be near the limit of what I temperature I want to fly. The cockpit temp is OK, but the oil temp barely touched 180 F during the flight. Would like to have it over 185 to get the water out of the oil. Later in the flight, I dialed the rpm back to 2450 and got the fuel flow down to 3.3 gph and 130 mph TAS. This is really economy cruise!

Glad to see that Tim Marlow’s Tri-Q200 is back in the air in the UK. The rest of you, keep at it…it’s too much fun not to!
