Re: q-200 building info. needed
Dorothea Keats and Chris Walterson <dkeats@...>
Brad------------ I have a complete Q-200 kit that has never been
started. It has all that's needed to build except the engine ,epoxi and wheels. I am located in Geraldton Ontario Canada. I want 8,000 Canadian. This kit was worth 13,000 US in 1984. It comes with the carbon fiber spars. I was gonna run a 2.5 turbocharged Subaru, but I have way to may other project on the go. With the cost of the Subaru I figure I could have a finished 200mph airplane for less than 20,000 Canadian. If you're intersted give me a buzz. If you are not intersted and are looking at a partially built aircraft, be very carefull. You never know what you are getting. I have built and am flying a Super Quickie and a Turbocharges Subaru Dragonlfy. Too may toys and no time.------------ Canada Chris

Revmaster! Where can you have this ceramic coating done? Muffler shops, dealerships??? Speaking of warm Revmasters: I've almost got 762CP back in the air pending resolution of engine idle problems, i.e. the engine idles perfectly @ 750 RPM, set by idle arm & control linkage. Upon reinstalling the engine cowling and allowing the engine to warm up for a few minutes the RPM will automatically increase to an average of 1450 RPM and remain until shutdown and cooling. Makes for a real hot final! Sure would like to make it to the Spring Fling. Is anyone familiar with this scenario? Comments & suggestions please. Thanks, Joe Tygart Turbo-Q N762CP VA.

I took it in the shorts but felt that it needed to be done. Usually the FBO comes up with a hangar for us, and there are no costs involved. This year was a little different, as there were just no hangars available. No fault of the FBO, it was just that the airport is under construction... destruction if you prefer. Next year SHOULD be business as usual, with no out of pocket expenses, as we will probably continue to use Don Laughlin's hangar or the FBO hangar. But I did like the feel of the tent.. the acoustics were awesome; everyone could hear well and although the wind did get to be problematic, earlier in the day the nice cool breeze was refreshing, way better than a stuffy, hot hangar. We didn't know for sure if we'd have a hangar this year or not, until the very last minute, and I just couldn't see all of us standing outside in the sun all day long. To me, the tent was just the right thing to do. Other options included just canceling and I certainly didn't want to do that. > There must be something else that can be done or maybe we should > think of another airport. My hangar would be available with plenty of space. Why don't we consider this after Livermore? Maybe rather than replacing Laughlin, we can add it to the list of annual gatherings?
