I believe standard red SCAT hose is ok to use. The bad stuff is the double
layered. It has the lining on both the inside and the outside of the
spring. The problem happens when low pressure in the hose causes the inner
lining to peel off.

You want to use the red single layer stuff.

Ron,

It looks like you have flexible "Scat" or "Skeet" hose between the
carb and carb heat box. You may want to consider making a fiberglass
section there.

Jim I read that rpm was down by 400 and I guess max power down also. Did you try for max speed at WOT? How did the max speed compare with your regular prop? I am experimenting with a Warp Drive 3 blade adjustable prop and looking for ideas. I have read that we get a 5% efficiency advantage with a two blade prop.

Kohler motor for Quic kie

Leon@CStreet <leon@...>

While looking for a source of a Honda GX360 motor I ran across a Kohler
motor that is new - to me at least. Seems they now make liquid-cooled V
twins (model #LH685 and EFI LH775) that might make a useable power plant for
a Quickie. Price is right as well.

Does anyone on this list have any experience with this motor, or better yet
actually trying to fit one to a Quickie? I know that there were a few
trying to fit the air-cooled version of the Kohler. Anyone got one of these
to the taxi stage yet?

Anyone looked at converting one of these to dry sump oiling and inverting it
for a higher direct drive prop line?

Hi all. We're going about of town for a couple of days and my not be able
to get to a confuser to check my e-mail. I just wanted to let you know a
little about the scope for the Spring Fling.

This is largely a non-structured event. It's the chance for guys and gals
to
kick the tires, fly a little and have fun.

Sandy and I will be at the Carbondale airport by 1:00 on Friday for
arrivals. Friday night, around 6:30, we'll head over to the Depot
restaurant for dinner. If you arrive after we have left and need a ride,
call me on my cell phone and someone will come to get you.

Saturday you are on your own for breakfast. There is a Hardees across the
Big Muddy river from the Super 8, and there's a good greasy spoon in the
town of Murphysboro called Tippy's.

I do not yet have the schedule on the two seminars, but they will be
covered
Saturday - probably before noon.

Saturday night we'll head over to the 17th Street Bar & Grill for some
world
class barbecued ribs.

Sunday we'll have the hangar open for departing thoughts, goodbyes, and
departures.

And that's the thumbnail of our plan. For more details check out the web
page.

We hope to see you here! Best Wishes,

Sam & Sandy Hoskins
