Re: Lights

Jeff <jeffrey.letempt@...>

John,

I do not agree with you on this one sir. FAR Part 91 has nothing to
do with "Standard Category" airplanes. I would sugest that you read
FAR Part 91, specifically 91.1 - Applicability. It specifically
says....

Sec. 91.1 - Applicability.

(a) Except as provided in paragraphs (b) and (c) of this section and
§§91.701 and 91.703, this part prescribes rules governing the
operation of aircraft (other than moored balloons, kites, unmanned
rockets, and unmanned free balloons, which are governed by part 101
of this chapter, and ultralight vehicles operated in accordance with
part 103 of this chapter) within the United States, including the
waters within 3 nautical miles of the U.S. coast.

(b) Each person operating an aircraft in the airspace overlying the
waters between 3 and 12 nautical miles from the coast of the United
States shall comply with §§91.1 through 91.21; §§91.101 through
91.143; §§91.151 through 91.159; §§91.167 through 91.193; §91.203;
§91.205; §§91.209 through 91.217; §91.221; §§91.303 through 91.319;
§91.323; §91.605; §91.609; §§91.703 through 91.715; and 91.903.

(c) This part applies to each person on board an aircraft being
operated under this part, unless otherwise specified.

No where does it say anything about "Standard Category" or
otherwise. Are you saying just because you are flying an
experimental aircraft that you do not have to follow the flight
rules in Part 91?

It will probably also specifically say that you have to comply with
these provissions in your Experimental Operating Limitations.

Jeff

Hey Jeff: part 91-205 is for "Standard" category airworthiness
certificated aircraft (spam cans). The Experimental certificate is
a
"Special" category airworthiness certificated. Strictly, section
91-205
does not apply, however, the inspector gets to make the call and

Hey Brad,
You have one of the best locations in the world for "Q" expertise, advice, and most of all real help right there in Livermore. You might want to contact oned of the ringleaders of that motley crew, like Jim Patillo, or Bob Farnam. They both know their stuff, and love to give rides and demo flights. Best of luck to the new baby. If you get up to the victorville area, please feel free to drop in.

Well, I'm on temporary assignment for work in LA and need to get to the

I've been givinh some serious thought over the past few months to building

Well Saturday was another one of those beautiful lazy, crazy Cobalt
Blue California days. So several of us, Glassair Geoff, Long EZE Ray,
RV Roger, RV Barry and I decided to go to Half Moon Bay for Calamari
on the beach. Trip time from Livermore to Half Moon under SFO B space
Bay, 15 minutes. The place was crawlin' with tourists and locals out
to soak up the rays. Vendors were selling fish on the docks. Kids were
playing in the sand. Landing was very busy with us and 7 other planes
in the circuit.

What I beautiful time of the year on the Pacific coast. The fresh
ocean air, the "scenery" and food was good and the company
substantial.

Cheers,

need a quick ride

Brad Walker

On 11 Nov. 05, my wife gave birth to a 2 lbs. 4 oz. baby boy. Our son came into
this world 3 months early. Needless to say, he is over at Children's Hospital
at Oakland for the next few months in the Neonatal ICU.

Well, I'm on temporary assignment for work in LA and need to get to the
SF Bay Area on weekends.

I've been givinh some serious thought over the past few months to building
a Q-200. Some of you might have even seen my posting in this newsgroup
about this.

I've never flown in a Q-200 and was wondering if anyone is going north this
holiday would it be possible to catch a ride with you?

I'm sure we can easily turn this little fellow in a Quickie lover... No pun
intended.. 8-)

Any help is much appreciated!

Stick your pin in the map now. Maybe some one near you wants to sell for
pennies on the dollar. This map is world wide as well. Take the time zoom
into your exact house/hangar if you wish to show others exactly where you
live/work/play. 2 pins posted in less than an hour!

I took the liberty of setting up this Frapper for Tandem Wing builders and
pilots. Take a look, add yourself, if you wish, and pass the info on to
other tandem wing groups.

Also for the folks out there that don't run WIN XP this is a good way to
get to use what appears to be the same data that Google Earth uses.

Me!?
It may not be a direct replacement, but it should be easily adapted. The
CG will have to be moved forward about 3 inches and tip gear is not an
option.

When I first decided that I "needed" an LS-1 canard the original tubular
spars were not available and finding copies of the QAC templates proved hard
enough - so I decided that if I was going to build from scratch that I might
as well incorporate my own "improvements".

When/If the first insurance check appears in the mail box the load test is
one of the first things to get finished - provided I can round up help to
load the ton +1/4 of cement. (need the cement for another project so I
might as well get double use from it)

Leon McAtee
Really giving the ol' spell checker a good workout

++++++++++++++++++
Even if it proves to be structurally sound it will not
be a direct replacement for either of the stock QAC canards.
