Re: Benefits of streamlining
Isaksson Roger <scratchdeeper@...>
Leon,
I don't think the rudder was just cobbled together, Terry here is attesting to that there was several rudder designs that was tested. As it came out in kitform, the Q, Q2 and Q-200, I am not aware of that there are, or have been a big burning  issue in the aftermath with the rudder itself. Nothing is perfect, and I am sure builders have made improvements on most anything on this aircraft, being simple, I see that as an advantage, and it seems like the rudder have adequate aerodynamic autority. The tailwheel though was not too much to hang in the Juletree, the geometry make it sit on a highspot , how they could miss on that one is beyond me, and on that issue I agree, it was cobbled together, (maybe that's what you ment) and a much better design could have been in the kit, without too much of a brainactivity...it was so obvious. Either way, ...we got to development history in QAC in the -70's,... from the subject of aerodynamics and the benefit of streamlining,.... that's pretty good. How do we tie this together, ???.... ok make a slipstream cover for the tailwheel... I agree, it is a great place. Not for everyone though! My problem is lack of money!! :-) I'd love to have better equipment like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/EPIC-HD-Action-Video-Camera-168-degree-Wide-Angle-NEW-/1 60484936816?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item255da5cc70 It would be really neat to find a bullet/lipstick size HD camera with wide angle lens AND remote control. Maybe Santa will deliver one tonight. Merry CHRISTmas everyone!! Jon

I have a bunch of experience with the 0200 and it has proven a good power plant, but I am also very interested in an alternative that works. There are so many possibilities with the Corvair that interest me. I am anxious to see some numbers on your plean, Thanks
