Re: Made it home

One Sky Dog

Sam,

Glad to hear you and wife are ok, and the bird is home.

I am curious as to the failure location and mode when you get it sorted out.

I was not able to even try to make it to the FOD this year.

Charlie Johnson

I to am sorry to have missed the event, but glad every one is safe and made good weather decisions.

I think the original FOD was conceptually centrally located for maximum availability. Bad news at OGD hostile airport manager and the TSA has moved in impacting access and events.

Sorry, I disagree...
It should not be closed, it should be repaired.. Repaved, or whatever it takes.

Too many small airports are falling prey to the housing developers... Leaving fewer and fewer places from which to fly.

My thoughts are that we've been having more central locations for 15 years but
nobody has yet volunteered to take control of the weather.

All, per suggestion of one of our members I've uploaded the the two presentations to the Files section. This way they are available to a broader community.

Paul Buckley

Hah hah! Yes, I found that it was difficult to get Memsahib to leave but I
had an allie on my side, British Airways and their baggage limit.

Thanks again Dave and Di, for your efforts in organising a great weekend.
We both thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie and the 'LOBSTA!'
(I had Bruskies share, too)
I am sorry that I missed Mike Bergan's presentation and think it a
splendid idea
for it to be included in the next newsletter.
I was also dissapointed that the weather precluded the arrival of Bruce, Honey
Lamb, Paul and Kevin, but hey, didn't we have a good time anyway? :)

And then there was Sam's brush with misfortune. What a bugger, as they
say back in the old country.
Sam, you must have been truly gutted, and all our feelings were/are with
you and we are so relieved the you were both unscathed.
Good luck for a speedy rebuild.

We eventually arrived at Plymouth a couple of days ago to check that the
colonists had settled in.
I'm pleased to be able to report that they seem to be doing ok 'though their
speech has aquired some strange inflection! ;)

Hi All
Thanks for the kind (I think) words. Everyone has reported their
arrivals back home except Paul Buckley. Just before he left he
quietly told me he was headed for Yankee Candle in spite of my
warnings. I wish I could have stopped him...he could be stuck there
for a long time. I know.
