$500 Q2
mylittlemgb <mylittlemgb@...>
Just to put everyone at ease the $500 Q2 is just a very incomplete fuselage shell with a set of plans. The plane was started then the builder passed away about a year or so ago. They can't find any of the foam or metal parts just a started fuselage shell. Richard Fast Little Airplanes LLC Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphone

Tail wheel geometry
From Mike D.s posting: http://www.pielandings.com/q200/tailwheel.html The only reason I have my tailwheel directly in trail is to minimize drag and I believe there is a penalty in handling. I have even considered going to a smaller diameter wheel.
I once taxied Jim Patillio's Q-200 around and it handled better than mine.

Sam, I have my Quickie listed on Barnstomers at an embarrassing price and no takers. Soon it may be down to $500. Mitch

Re: Revmaster 2100 Exhaust

Jeff Your idea would put the hot exaust too close to your carb intake. Don't change the original design. Just my opinion, but I think you'd be asking for big trouble. Dave D Sent from Samsung tablet

From kitfoxjeff@... Date: 04/10/2014 5:35 AM (GMT-05:00) To Q-LIST@... Subject [Q-LIST] Revmaster 2100 Exhaust I ordered a new stainless steel exhaust from Revmaster. When I bought the plane two months ago, there was no exhaust on the plane. They tell me that the exhaust will exit the plane on the left rear side of the cowl. I can see on the cowl that the last user of this bird sealed up that old hole. The body work is not yet painted. So I asked Revmaster if they could custom build me an exhaust that would exit strait down and back at the rear of the cowling where there is already a lump in the cowl for the exit of cooling air. Any input on this? Am I correct for trying to save a small amount of drag that may be caused from the exhaust exiting the left side of the cowl? Would it work out for me to have the exhaust exit the cooling air exit hole? Am I wrong for trying to re-invent the wheel here? I also think it would look nicer of that would possibly work.

Yes Sam, I know, it sounds strange, I will check again to be sure that what I am seeing is real. If I can figure out how to get pictures uploaded from my iphone onto this site, I will post some. Thanks for your input.

Gene Sheehan did some work with a CF Fuselage. Their own website is down, but: http://www.mojaveflyin.com/2013/03/electric-quickie-to-attend.html http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/584453main_Green_Flight_Challenge_TAGGED.pdf http://blog.cafefoundation.org/green-flight-challenge-it-might-look-like-a-quickie/ -Emron TriQ200 15hrs

Re: Carbon Fiber Q-2
Interesting, never heard of a CF Q-2. What portion did you examine? Fuselage, wing? Are you sure it's not the paint primer? The original finishing method called out for a black primer that was designed to protect the epoxy from UV. Maybe that is what you are seeing.

Carbon Fiber Q-2
Jeff Sellars
Why is my Q-2 outer layer appear to be made from Carbon Fiber?
The person i bought it from said it was built of carbon fiber, I didn't believe him so I sanded, and/or pealed a few spots and see that it is, from the out side, Carbon fiber. But from the inside, it looks traditional, glass. I heard that Carbon fiber could be 4 times stronger if done right from the start vacuum bagged and all, however, if not done correctly it may only be 50% stronger. Anyone want to help me understand this?
