Bruce or someone,
Please verify the dates for Spring Fling. Is it 17-20 of July?

I flew N96BJ today and can say that it is up and running without any problems.  I have no oil on the belly after putting the o ring on the case half bolts on the left front!  It was 75 degrees F today and my temps were plenty cool for CHT and oil Temps!  The finished exit ramp on the bottom of the cowl looks great if you're standing back about 10 feet!

I am also getting the zig zag dialed in for cruise and alleviating the sparrow strainer stall!  I washed off all of the bugs today so I am feeling pretty good about it all!

I flew 1/2 hour today with gusting winds of 19 to 25 mph without any problem!  Yeah this TriQ is great with high winds and cross winds.  It is a lot more of a chore with the RV6 taildragger!

Bring it on Kevin Boddecker!  I am ready.!!

Re: Leaking Revmaster Carburetor on Full Richi

Are you sure it's leaking from the mixture control arm? If I forget to shut off the fuel valve my carburetor will fill up with fuel until it runs out the front of the carb through the carb heat filter and drips from the carb, intake manifold etc. I have a Revflow carburetor. Not good to leave the fuel valve on even for a short time. How long has this been going on?

September 20, 21 & 22 1991 was the first year at Ottawa, KS.

1992 (2nd) was the big year as we had 26 Tandems attend all together. 12 Dragonflies and 24 Quickies

This might make for some fun reminiscing.... I remember talking about this last year but don't recall the verdict.

I flew my Q1 (Rotax 503 powered at that time) from Helena, MT to the 1992 event at Ottawa, KS (and picked up Bob Bounds in his sissy pink Rotax 503 Q1 enroute).  As I recall, it was the second year of the primarily Dragonfly event organized by Spud Spornitz.  That doesn't quite mesh with 30 years and I'm certainly not going to argue with Alan!!  So, I betting I got something wrong - maybe that was the third year for DF's??

I've still got the award for the best Q-200 at the 1991 swarming.  I was in fact the ONLY Quickie type aircraft at the Dragonfly swarming that year.  But hey an award is an award!!

Those days in Ottawa were great fun.  There are fewer people in Enid, but it's still great fun!!
