Very nice, Mike and welcome. Bob is a valuable member of this group and a skilled builder, so you have a great airplane. Sorry to see Bob give it up, but glad it has found a good home where it will continue to fly regularly and thanks to Jim P. for making it happen.

Cheers,

Jay

I have a nearly complete kit, the wings are built but need the control surfaces added.

3500.00 for the lot.  I have a deposit on it from a guy in Canada but he is having issues getting here to collect it so I’ll offer his deposit back if someone else is interested.

Thanks Shaun.  I haven't ruled out using one of my Subaru engines,  that's how I found J Finley.  I'm an old Subie enthusiast and with no free engines in the hangar, it's something I'm very much considering.  I'm looking through all of the old threads on how they've been pulled off.  I've only had them in automotive applications thus far,  but am discussing tuning with several great shops.

I’ve got a firewall forward package from my previously flying Q200 for sale. If you find a Q2 that needs and engine upgrade or a Q200 with no firewall forward, give me a call 907-388-0452.

Title says it all.  Looking in the Midwest region, but willing to travel for the right example.  I found this group combing through Quickheads and found J Finley's YouTube channel and chatted with him a bit.

I'm glad I finally found this place and am still combing through all of the old threads.

My new baby

Hello all!
I wanted to say I’m thrilled to get my Q200 home to the Las Vegas area yesterday. It’s been a long road and lots of learning in the last year. Instrumental were the builder Bob Farnam and a lot of help from Jim Patillo. I’ve learned more than I ever thought for sure but will never know as much as a original builder! Many Thanks Bob and Jim,
Im looking forward to many years of flying and gatherings that’s been set up.
Now it’s time to Fly!

Dear Q-Community,

thanks for your hints and comments. Again, great to get that feedback from you guys!

To post cure the Resin that I use for the Q1 Project (MGS LR385/LH386) it’s already a oven available that is used for the ASSO X-RAY Project (MGS LR285/LH285), please find below some Picture. It´s a full control heating process with some thermocouples and a customizing software solution (DIY).

It’s a easy construction of XPS elements, some cheap fans (Ebay 8$), two control cabinet heater from EBM Pabst (Ebay 20$), some bulbs (5 * 200W) and in the end a customizing fermentation controller (BrewiPI), please find below the link. https://www.brewpiremix.com   After all my aircrafts are in the air, maybe I will start to made my own beer :-)

To fit all parts of the Q1 in that oven it will be needed an extended version, if my buddy isn’t ready to go with his paint booth. So we will see……

The temperature will not rise more than 65°C, based on the Foam used in wing and canard area, for min. 15h but heat up 10°C/h (5h) and cool down with 10°C/h (5h).

So far all bulkheads are ready to go, just the seat bulkhead need to heat up (bending area) and fixed with resin/glass combo. The next step will be to contouring/cut out the bottom

Cody,

Be sure to read all the newsletters, not just the manual. Here’s a link to all the official QAC newsletters: https://davidjgall.com/Q/QAC%20Newsletters/. The other resource you need is the Q-Talk newsletter back issues. You can get those from http://www.quickheads.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=49&Itemid=265.

Hey everyone, I need to ask if anyone has an electronic copy of the latest q200 manual. I want to make sure I hit the important bulletins. I've downloaded pictures and files to help with the Jim-Bob six pack and reflexor ideas. I also took notes on Jim's canopy design. HELP PLEASE. I'd rather have too much info than miss something critical.

Dunno if still available but Quickheads created a CD some years back that indexed every newsletter and mod from day one relevant to the Q2.

4 months out of it

After 4 months of drama, divorce, leaving town, leaving the country. I have returned to my quickie. I have also found the secret that you all missed when you were building! You see, if you put your quickie in the living room, it's really hard to ignore that pull to do something to her and get the project rolling.

Microsoft flight simulator 2020. There have been Q200s made for previous versions but not this one yet. I'm in the process of converting one to the new version. Thought I had it done but then went to fly it and realized I need to work done stuff out.
