Beware of trailing edge down reflexer. It can over power the elevator and drive you into the dirt. Nearly happened to me. Reversing the reflexer saved me. I have since put a stop so it can't go past neutral. Jerry

Re: Reminder: Q-List Zoom meeting - Ask the Pilots - Saturday 11 December - 0900 Central Time
To Kevin’s point about them all being hand built: My wing is intentionally mounted leading edge down relative to plans. I never fly mine with the reflexor deflected trailing edge up! Mine is in trail at takeoff and deflected down for cruise and landing. Whatever works. You need to test this during your flight test period, so I would suggest you not put hard stops in until you have tested.
The range of the reflexor can be extended beyond the plans limits. Mine go to a max of 10 degrees down and 6 degrees up, and I still have full aileron effectiveness with mine deflected full down. They serve as “flaps” when I am landing, but I need to pull them to neutral if I am doing a touch and go. (I have a tri-gear)

Anthony, From memory. I believe the limits on the reflector are 2° down and 6° up according to plans. I have never flown my plane with any trailing edge down setting. They are all hand built. So yours may be different.

All of the “episodes” have been great. This one proves the cohesiveness of the group, and willingness, zeal, to welcome new aviators into the fold. Sam, Kudos for all the time you have put into this effort. You are the patriarch, even though Jerry is old as hell!! nuff said.

Re: Today's tour
You are right, Brent. This is a really close group and have a great combination of loving these little airplanes and having a lot of patience for those who are learning. Also, they never give up, which is why I suppose we still have some of these great birds still flying regularly. You really need to experience all these guys in person, so if you can make it to the Field of Dreams…. Kevin is one of a kind and from what I understood today, he will be your humble host in 2022! Yay!

Thanks guys, really good info. And thanks again to Same for putting this all together. I'm part of a few different aircraft groups and they aren't like this. Between the Q-tours and the yearly fly-ins, you guys have a really good group!

Very interesting and informative as always. Thanks everyone.
Follow-up on a comment by Chris Walterson and maybe a terminology lesson for me. Chris was talking about the main wing not flying and needed to "add reflexor" When I think of adding reflexor, that would reduce lift on the main wing and increase aircraft pitch. It sounds like what he did was to add flaps, as in flaperons. Is this correct? How much "down aileron" can people get from their reflexor system? I would have thought none because reflex means deflect control surface up? -- Q2 N86KL

Re: Fuel pump & condition inspection
I'm thinking of saying the intended use is for decorative mailboxes. Then they can argue with Mr. Postman
We've de-volved into a society that is hell bent to "protect" us from every possible contingency, Including
as Charlie correctly brought up at FOD this year, not the most intelligent "solution" dealing with
micro-bugs in the mask.
You guys know that Oklahoma is going to battle against D.C. We invite all sensible folks to participate
in doing the same in their home States because unless we act to stop this garbage, the insanity will only
expand. We have at least a zillion examples of how "just this time" or "it's only temporary"
or "once this crisis is over" since I was born in 1957 became oppression and deleted rights.
TSA is a perfect example. Hell they have legal rights to peek up your drawers now!!
Fact is this.. on a long enough timeline EVERYONE has a zero chance of physical survival in this life. Each
and every one of us are someday Going West.
I personally feel that aviation is (at this time anyway) less dangerous than being a convenience store clerk,
but I don't see the lawyers at the store front door lined up to get the government to "protect" these
souls that get paid rather poorly for the risk they assume.
Really glad to be back in The Sooner State..even more so I made the choice to move here from an overbearing
liberal controlled location in 2016. The best decision I have made up to now.
