Re: Any advice for bulkhead type layups
Thanks Sam.
We did try with plastic covering the wet epoxy but couldn't peal it without everything coming apart.
Some things actually go better with less helpers and this might have been one of

Re: Any advice for bulkhead type layups
They are disks.
We aren't really building the bulkheads, we are using similar materials attached in a similar way to produce a support that will be similar to the fuselage and bulkheads in the Q2.

Yes, just do one thing at a time - at least until you get some more
experience. Are you familiar with using cellophane, or aluminium foil, for
attaching BID tapes? That was developed a few years

It was a miserable job because we had wet fiberglass on both sides of the clark foam at the same time, plus attachment tapes. Everything wanted to stick to everything, except the fiberglass kept

I didn't understand why you said "it's a miserable job". It's just the
simplest of layups.

Thanks to Sam and Sam (are you guys a type club?) and to Mike.
We were trying to do this as one or two long work day(s) on Saturday; now I think we need to plan on several short sessions.

Re: Any advice for bulkhead type layups
Yup, but use peel ply on the bulkheads where the tape will be used... At 75F one day cure should work fine. Sam lives in the frozen north where it may take longer to cure!

Great to hear you are up and running again Paul! You have certainly been motivated! Seems like only yesterday you were down for repair. I'll bet you will like the way she handles with the Jim Bob

Re: Any advice for bulkhead type layups
Mike, do you have a set of plans to work off of?
Yes, Glass one side of the foam, let it cure a coupld days, then do the
other side. After that is done, trim and fit and glass to the fuselage

Mike,
The bulkheads were some of the first layups accomplished when I first
started my project. If memory serves me correctly, the Clark foam would not
lay flat, so I resorted to using straight

That is great news.
The ball was dropped by Paul. Fisher that is. Oh wait he was the only
one that flew in. Oh well he can take the blame anyway.
Good weather has been asked for. Up to the Almighty

Kevin,
I am planning on making Spring Fling. Did you put in your order for better weather this year? Somebody dropped the ball last year I think.
