Richard,
Changing airfoils should not mean scale down the Q2 design disaster. Nothing is right structurally about the Q2 LS-1 wing design, in my opinion but I am not a structural engineer.

LS1 canard and the Q-1
I remember seeing a question asked about an LS1 for the Q1. The single place didn't get the LS1 as far as I have ever found and to be honest the cost to produce the carbon spar would scare most away.

Single place Q parts
The plan in the coming month or so is to start making the Q-1 metal parts many of the parts are the same as the Q2. Like the bell crank for the ailerons, control horns, the stick and stick control
