Re: Cowl and propshaft clearance
Ditto! I agree with Mike . A quarter of an inch should be sufficient to start with. Just keep an eye out for any wear on the extension/shaft and cowl. As soon as the engine sags (about 200/400 hours

Re: Cowl and propshaft clearance
As the engine mount rubber ages the engine sags so leave that gap pretty wide. I don't see a point in making it tight.

Cowl and propshaft clearance
Hi All,
What is the consensus on a Q200 for minimum clearance between the cowl and prop/crank near the flange? I am looking for radial clearance wrt the shaft, not the clearance between spinner

Re: Static Balanced My Prop
Thanks. The OCD in me found that satisfying to watch. Might not be so easy with my three blade but your dynamic balancer will be fun.

Re: Digest Number 5611
Mike,
I am guessing that the boards are 2 x 4ish with the metal knifeedge screwed onto the top boards. Is the whole shebang bolted togetheror do you have the top boards just sitting on the cross

Please check that the attachment of the ailerons to the aileron torque tube is solid. Any motion between those two will call for rebuilding the aileron. You can hold the opposite aileron immobile

Static Balanced My Prop
Hi All,
I had the prop off for annual and started balancing it. Then I realized that maybe someone doesn't know how to do this so I made a video! My balance jig is pretty simple but seems to work

Re: Uneven Elevators
I assume that plane has flown before?
To address a Roll tendency we typically tweak the elevators deferentially.

Not that I'm aware of. I have reason to suspect there may have been damage.
