I wasn't planning on "using it" but rather just trying to learn from your thinking..
But, I do understand.

Rather not share it at this time. It is messy and unproven at this point, so I would rather not have someone else besides me using it.

Re: static thrust test report
Thrust is a force. That force is combined with the other drag forces and mass(pound mass) elsewhere in the spreadsheet to compute acceleration.

I might be missing something. But, I really don't understand your thrust calculation.
I would assume you mean pounds-force (lbf).. I don't see any acceleration value in the thrust calculation (i.e.

Thanks for the info on the radio. The radio does have its own self contained battery. Could be the small whip radio antenna is too close to the engine source. There is a good place on the back turtle

Hi Jerry,
Not sure I am understanding. Do you think my T.O. calculations seem too short or too long, based on your experience?

Chris,
Just to be clear, the radio is not connected to the airplane? No power connection or headset wiring right? Also I assume you have tried the radio outside the airplane and it works

I am hoping some one can help me. I am trying to solve a radio problem and am not getting anywhere.
This is the story. I have an EAA biplane with hand start 290 Lycoming. I am using a Icom IC-A6

Re: static thrust test report
From my experience at less than 6000 DA and less than 1300lbs gross, the T.O. calculations are quite conservative.

Flight Report... heavy
I just flew a friend that had put on some weight. 275lbs now.
The temp was 85F and about 85% humidity.
My normal flying is done with the wife and gross is around 1000lb.
