Hi Eddy,
I am suggesting your developed method of repair is not appropriate for our aircraft.
A proper repair is to: Remove all paint and fairing to expose the damage. Remove damaged plies and core.

This technique I'm suggesting is not for molding, it's for placing over an are which has had a repair or even as a repair.

Vern,
Some problems with trying to do transition trading at a fly-in is different goals. Fly-ins pilots give rides to encourage builders and may let the rider fly when high enough to not cause

I've done many repairs on fibergass, I used to build RC models.
One great method to get a smooth final coat of glass is to get the absolute lightest fiberglass you can get your hands on.

Jon Finley is the NM guy you are talking about that built the Q2 with the Subaru. He now flies an RV4 and keeps it at Truth or Consequences, NM most of the time. He sometimes monitors this group, so

yes.. that is the one. Beautiful aircraft too. You got me thinking (uh oh!) maybe at F.O.D. attendees with flying aircraft
make concerted efforts to transition pilots. That would include me also

Vern,
Justin Mace of Tucson, early Dragonfly builder. I believe maybe the first “snap dragon” molded fuselage. Started with VW, went to Subaru ( to heavy) , ended with O-200 and Simple Digital

Re: Epoxy
Dan,
For structural patches use EZ-poxy or Aeropoxy.
For fairing the 105 is easier to sand and cures faster.

Charlie

5 hours drive in the sunshine is not much to meet up with Charlie, Dan. You'd be wise to link up
because Charlie can save you frustrations on completing your project.

Dan,
I am in Benson, AZ, it is about 5 hours from you on I-10.
I am waiting for a row of hangars to be constructed before moving aviation stuff. My Dragonfly is still in Utah. I hope to get it back in

Epoxy
I'm needing to buy some epoxy to do some patches on the fuselage, wing, and cowling. I understand the safe-t-poxy stuff is a thing of the past, so would the west coast 105 stuff be ok? I'm not sure
