And obviously major unending kudos to Dan for putting all that stuff online for free! Saved me metric buttloads of pain and suffering for sure.

Thanks! Before buying my kit I read all the QAC newsletters online. Luckily my kit came with hard copies of all the QAC newsletters and all the Q-Talks before they went digital.

Re: How Much Cable Play between Rudder and Tailwheel in Q2?
Here’s another cable option that allows for differential between rudder and tailwheel but Sam’s
set up is a lot easier to install especially on a finished airplane. Like he said, no destruction.

No destructions needed, this photo shows all. The turnbuckle cable goes to the rudder bellcrank.

Sam:
Do you have instructions/drawings/parts list for your cable splitter in the files section somewhere, or on your blog? Might be an easier retrofit on a completed bird.

Re: Facet Fuel Pump
Yes, the old pump was repaired. But it's so old that I'm only going to use it in the airplane now.

Re: Hobbs Wiring
Good idea, I'll try that. Now that I think about it (and now six states away from the plane), the main bus isn't that hard to get to.

Easy stuff first:
Try connecting a 9 volt battery to the Hobbs meter directly using alligator clips. Wait 6 minutes and see if it turns...

Re: Facet Fuel Pump
Maybe instead of solid state the new ones are "quiet state" 😁
Mike: Do you think the diode could be replaced and the pump repaired? Be an interesting data point and might leave you a spare...

Re: How Much Cable Play between Rudder and Tailwheel in Q2?
Bruce is correct, you have to adjust the cable to the rudder with the tailwheel spring unloaded. If the cable is too loose, you can encounter rudder flutter at the higher speeds. This is unnerving,

Oh, that makes sense: I did have weight on the tailwheel. And the build instructions do show springs wrapped around.
Thanks!

Is thy that with the tail wheel off of the ground? The tail spring flex will perhaps make it tighter when the load is off. You can take the slack off the cable by putting a couple of springs from

Re: Old Video - Subaru Q2
Of course it matters. I do think we have better "alternative" development happening now than ever before. But I think they has more to do with advances in engine management technology than some magic
