clearances
I am starting to mock up the elevators on the Q200. I can't seem to find any info on the clearance between the elevator and the elevator slots. Does using the aluminum hinge fittings for reference

The tubing coming out of the pant was going to make too sharp of a bend, especially with any movement. I did the big loop to relieve stress and covered it with tubing to prevent abrasion.

That's the plan, once I make a set and verify fitment.
Say, what's the big loop of tubing for in your brake mount picture?

I agree with the group on this, Chris. Build aileron assembly per plans, or close to it. No need to alter a good design. It will save you time and hassle in the long run.
Cheers,

Nice Mike. How about creating a folder for these parts in the Files section of the Q-list site?

Re: weight
I’ve learned a ton from this group. One consistent theme sticks out all the time from those with great experience: keep it simple and don’t fix what’s not broken.

Just follow the plans. A mid span hinge would serve what purpose? The ailerons are simple, best to keep them that way. They are a low maintenance item and as far as my experience goes, don't need

Sounds to me like you are trying to fix something that isn't broken. The plans mounting of the ailerons works fine.
I have to take the tailcone off to remove the ailerons, but I have to do that at

Flipped the wing upright today to install the aileron slots. Any different ideas on mounting the ailerons?
How is the best way to make an aileron to fuselage fairing? I am setting mine up a bit

Hi Jay,
I saw the registration history too but wondered what gave reason for the deregistration.
I saw he is from Indy,
Thanks Sam for the info. Definitely looks like a Polish name.
