Re: Motor mount backing plate
The plans called for aluminum, but I found that when applying the proper torque, especially for the old 200, the plates deformed quite a bit. So I remade them in 1/8“ steel.

Re: Motor mount backing plate
Hi Mike,
I needed similar info for other metal parts and ended up buying the appendix for the plans from quickheads.
It looks like EM2 is 0.125” in 2024T3, so you have the right spec.
Cheers, Tim

Re: Looking For Q2 and 200 Projects, Midwest Prefered
Thanks, Sir. That's a little bit farther than I was hoping to travel, but keep me posted on what transpires with our Northern neighbor across the border.

Very nice, Mike and welcome. Bob is a valuable member of this group and a skilled builder, so you have a great airplane. Sorry to see Bob give it up, but glad it has found a good home where it will

Re: Looking For Q2 and 200 Projects, Midwest Prefered
I have a nearly complete kit, the wings are built but need the control surfaces added.
3500.00 for the lot. I have a deposit on it from a guy in Canada but he is having issues getting here to collect

Re: Looking For Q2 and 200 Projects, Midwest Prefered
Thanks Shaun. I haven't ruled out using one of my Subaru engines, that's how I found J Finley. I'm an old Subie enthusiast and with no free engines in the hangar, it's something I'm very much

Re: Looking For Q2 and 200 Projects, Midwest Prefered
I’ve got a firewall forward package from my previously flying Q200 for sale. If you find a Q2 that needs and engine upgrade or a Q200 with no firewall forward, give me a call 907-388-0452.

Looking For Q2 and 200 Projects, Midwest Prefered
Title says it all. Looking in the Midwest region, but willing to travel for the right example. I found this group combing through Quickheads and found J Finley's YouTube channel and chatted with him
