I am paying a fiberglass expert to come and work with me for a day when I come back, and I have had some experience working on sailboats. I'd like to prepare a little before. Can you please share

Hey Murry, I may be interested. I have a higher power engine we're fitting to a Tri-Q. This may be a good option for us to do some testing to the benefit of the group. Please shoot me an email

Re: Q200 Prop
Correct. an O-200 might be able to get the 80" pitch prop to 2000rpm, at which point it might produce ~60 hp.The prop is for 160-180 hp.

If you land and look back at your plane while walking away; you’ve found your happy place. Sounds like a good flight, Jay!

Long read.
Sorry for the confusion. When I was referring length and pitch of props for standard and pumped up 0200’s on a Q, I was using Bernie Warnke "Almost Constant Speed" and Craig Catto props

To illustrate just how complicated fixed-pitch wooden propeller performance can be, even on a simple flight, here is a plot of TAS (kts) vs. RPM for my plane for one leg of a cross country flight from

Re: Q200 Prop
Michael makes an excellent point about comparisons between props. There is much, much more to props than just the diameter and pitch.
