Idle and Run-up This Morning
This morning, I was out at the hangar taking care of some squawks from the conditional and avionics install.....and doing some idle and run-up fun. Thought you’d enjoy the video and pic.

Re: Fuel Tank Outlets Too Small
That’s great Chris,
I agree if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. My message is for everybody that’s getting ready for that first flight. We’ve proven you don’t need a gascolator. Just one more

Re: [Quickie-1] Tail wheel support - steel/foam
Eugen,
I was talking with Boddicker about your pictures. Looking at the picture of your wing it appears you do not have the shear web glassed in. From the picture of the end of the wing it appears

Jim----------------- I would like to remove the gascolator, but the "rules" in Canada make it mandatory.
Because on my application I have fuel that moves back to the header, there isn't much

[Quickie-1] Tail wheel support - steel/foam
Hello Q-Community,
What type of material is used for the tail wheel support? It’s a rod of 1.4310 (x10CrNi18-8) in US 301 (UNS S30100)?
Which wheel diameter on the tail wheel would you recommend?

Quickie Gathering at AirVenture
Just curious,
Is there a Quickie gathering planned during AirVenture as there has been in the past.
Thanks
Keith

Re: Fuel Tank Outlets Too Small
Hi Chris,
I would suggest throwing that gascolator as far away from your Quickie as you can. It’s another source of vapor lock. I’ve never found any water in my fuel. Several of us have removed

Re: Oil pressure dropping at operating temperature.
Back in 1985 when I bought the rebuilt 0-200A for $3500 I had 30 PSI at 210F with W100 = 50 weight oil. At idle it would only drop to 25 or so. 36 years later at 150F I'd see 30 at best and 10 at

Re: Oil pressure dropping at operating temperature.
Thx Paul. Mine is similar to yours, except about 5psi less. I'm thinking mine never has been 40. Maybe I just woke up. Now that I am awake I would feel more comfortable if it read 30+ at cruise.

Jay------------ On my injection unit the main supply to the gascolator from the header is 3/8. Thats' the rule here in Canada , but the pumps, injector lines are all 5/16. So after the gascolator

Re: Oil pressure dropping at operating temperature.
Bruce,
Any rpm at start will yield 40 psi. Sometimes it takes a while to move the needle.
Usually during cold weather.
The only time I see below 40 PSI is during taxi after landing.
I don’t pay

Re: Fuel Tank Outlets Too Small
Since you are changing them out anyway, Robert. Why not go to 3/8”? Nearly all aircraft have 3/8” lines now. This is what I have on my plane.
Cheers,
Jay

Re: Oil pressure dropping at operating temperature.
Kev and Dave, thx for your input. Kev, yours fit well within the specs. The Revmaster must have a very efficient oil passage way.
Sam gave me an excellent reference. It appears that this is a common

Re: Oil pressure dropping at operating temperature.
Hi Jerry
Rule of thumb with the Revmaster is 10 lbs PSI for every 1000 RPM. Example....2500 RPM / 25 PSI oil pressure.

Re: Oil pressure dropping at operating temperature.
Kevin will turning up the rpms at start up bring the oil pressure up? I have to do that if I haven’t flown in a month or so.
