Re: Fuselage repair
Thanks Jim.... not to mention that you have a beautiful Lindy winner yourself. I'm not gonna take Jon's advice this time, although I think he means well.

Re: CS-7 mounting
You are correct. The CS supports should all mount against the wing, not the
bulkhead. I suggest you rebuild those mounts and mount them per plans to the
wing shear web.
Cheers,
Jay

Re: Stupid Geometry Problem ... Bias Cutting
Took a second measurement and decided I get by with a 32x21 strip which fit perfectly.
Thanks for your responses, off to doing some fiberglass layups 😉

Robert---------- I don't quite understand your dilema.
Lay the roll on the table measure 36 inches down the roll lengthways. Draw a line from the 36 inch mark to the top start of the roll. 45

Re: Stupid Geometry Problem ... Bias Cutting
The standard approach is to cut the longest rectangle you can, always following the 45 degree lines in the BID. If you need a bigger piece, then use the overlap schedule specified, which is usually 1"

Stupid Geometry Problem ... Bias Cutting
I need a piece of 35x24in BID from my 36in wide BID roll. Usually I cut at a 45 degree bias, but I can't figure out how to do a bias cut for such a large piece.
Suggestions? Ideas beside buying a

Re: Fuselage repair
Dave,
Don't listen to him! Jim probably doesn't understand that is better not to use matching paint. If none of it matches, people believe that it is by design. Much, much easier to manage

Hi Jim. Thank you for the encouragement. No problem matching the paint and thankfully no one will be able to see it underneath the fuselage. I recently had the lower cowl painted with a perfect match
