Re: Tailwheel Attachment Part Machining?
Not a tube, it’s a solid rod. Of course you can mount it in a tube. Be warned that titanium is a bitch to drill.

Re: Tailwheel Attachment Part Machining?
Thanks for mentioning that Robert !
I like that they have a location in Canada too ....and its nearby
Now that you've mentioned that I'm thinking that having a tube in the fuselage makes even more

Re: Tailwheel Attachment Part Machining?
Unless you need the weight back there, do what the Sonex guys do, order an untapered 5/8th rod from Titanium Joe: https://www.titaniumjoe.com/index.cfm/titanium-products/bar/
Uncertified will do,

Re: Tailwheel Attachment Part Machining?
How are you guys floxing the tail spring in?
My plans aren't showing how far the spring goes into the tail.
I'm going to install a tube and then a 5/8' spring steel rod inside that.
How far in should

Re: Trim control
Has anyone tried articulating the sparrow strainer and using that as the trim? Hinging them to make them in-flight adjustable would just do Bruce's adjustment, without the trim springs.

Re: Accessible instrument panel
I chose to make the panel out of fiberglass. By curvin
g a lip over the top and on the bottom, it provides enough rigidity. Then I used wrinkle paint. Fiberglass makes it easy to modify the panel

I copied Jerry's concept.
Can't wait to actually fly behind it.

Jerry,
This is still the best idea that I wish I would have made. Working behind the panel through the leg holes is a horrible experience!

Jerry,
Does the center section come out at all? Always wondered how you access/installed everything mounted there.

Here are a few pictures of what I did for the trim. The one picture shows the pushrods going to the bellcranks. I made the bellcranks I think 1 1/2 inches longer to be less sensitive, and I also

Looks great! After you fly it a while start thinking of how I can get the sparrow strainers to adjust and relieve the pressure on the trim wheel so that the elevator is not loaded but neutral. When

Re: Trim control
Thanks Norm,
The benefit of a photo is that I can see more than what the topic is about. Thinks like fuel lines and other controls.
Lots of thinking ahead on where to put everything all the while
