January 31st TriQ 200 Flight
Honey Lamb and I flew the TriQ 200 today and I gave 3 rides! They were beautiful flights and 59 degrees with the wind coming straight down the runways! One of the passengers was over 200 lbs! It

Re: Repurposed old wing.
Hi Chris,
I did some careful testing of solvents when I was building my Q. I ended up using what is called "Fabric Wash". It is formulated and sold by Air-Tech Coatings Inc. They specialize in

Re: Repurposed old wing.
I built Glasair TD #102 (the first kit!) and #123. Vinylester resin is why only urethane foam is used in Glasairs. You can’t hot-wire it, either, because it doesn’t cut cleanly and releases toxic

Sam-------------Â Good report. I don't know if I said before, but I am building a Glasair 2SFT. The airplane came with lots of parts missing, so I decided to build my own style wing tips.

Repurposed old wing.
When I started finishing my Q-200, back in 1985 or so, I was hangered with a QAC dealer. For the finishing phase of his project, Marvin had used a polyester resin, which he mixed with micro-balloons

Glad you got it back home again, Mike. Bob and company did a great job on that repair. I am certain you will enjoy it for many more years. Happy flying into the new year!
Cheers,
Jay

I bought a Q200 from Bob Farnahm in April of 21. He graciously offered to help me with my first condition inspection , specifically taking off the elevators and lube them up and re - install. I flew

Good to hear from you Gary! How’s CupCake doing?
< It is very expensive, and sometimes hard to get because the components are made in the USA, shipped to Germany, and back to the USA.>

Re: Belly board
I agree with Jerry. The belly board is either open or closed. The travel needs to be quick in case of a go around or being late in putting it down.

Re: Belly board
After 1000hrs, I don't see a need to have the belly board to be other than fully closed or fully open. Interim positions not necessary. Jm

Re: Belly Board
I have no belly board. I have a Tri-Q2, so more drag, and it also slips nicely. My radiator doors are open on landing and they add drag also.
Cheers,
Jay
