Re: installing tail wheel spring/ angle of incidence
Just to help beat a dead horse, I have the original 3/16" bolt. I have never bent one, but I do replace the bolt and sleeve every once in a while when they show signs of wear.

Re: installing tail wheel spring/ angle of incidence
Come to think of it, I think I changed back to the straight TW bracket to reduce the drag from the wheel hanging down in the airstream. Anything for half a knot.
Here is what it looks like now:

Re: installing tail wheel spring/ angle of incidence
Don't use a 3/8" pivot bolt. I bent mine about every month. Bought a gag of them as replacements. I'd up that to a 7/16 bolt AN4.
Here are some pictures of the original factory Q200. I built mine

Re: installing tail wheel spring/ angle of incidence
I modified a tail wheel bracket in the same fashion that you did. I decided I didn't like it and I went back to the original equipment. That was at least 10 years ago, so I don't really remember what

You got a problem landing on Snow Charlie?? ;-)
Nice photo. I hope to come visit your airport someday. I have threatened Jon Finley with the same. Happy new year to ya!
Cheers,
Jay

Appreciate the update. If you do see Calvin, please tell him that his blog was a huge inspiration to me. He shared some great Revmaster information that I still use while rebuilding my engine.

installing tail wheel spring/ angle of incidence
Hi guys,
I'm installing my tailwheel spring now.
Spent about 4 hours tediously drilling through the flox at the base of the rudder...arghhh
I'm using a 5/8" spring steel rod.
It is sticking out 7" to

Jay,
I have been flying the milk stool. I flew along the border and took a picture of the historic container wall.
Winter is nice without snow!

Re: Finally got my first flight of the year.
Iām still waiting for any chance at good weather.
Been foggy here for a week. Some late afternoon clearing, but temp and dew point have been the same. 100% humidity. Even at 19F!
Oh well it will get

Re: ED Sterba prop. cone/plates
The Aircraft Spruce manufacturing arm, ACS, made the spinners for the O-200s. I think I heard somewhere they are not going to make them anymore. This is not good.
There are a couple of guys in this

Finally got my first flight of the year.
The weather was just too good not to aviate. When I departed, I flew over the house at about 500 to let Sandy know I was up in the air. Headed south with no particular place to go, I haven't been
