Re: Redo Wheel Axels with Gall Alignment Procedure?
Btw after reading and re-reading the Gall article and Quickheads article, I am still unclear what numbers to use under load vs when fresh built ...
For the 5 degrees of CAMBER, is that under load? So

Redo Wheel Axels with Gall Alignment Procedure?
So its this time where the engine is in and I can load the plane up to gross weight and realign the wheels. I saw this for a new canard ...
Does anyone have a good procedure do this on a finished

Re: Rudder cables?
Yes.. one step further is full torque tubes. I can visualize your build, the fuselage joint is an improvement. How long has your aircraft been flying with this
design, Chris? I'd be willing to bet on

Re: Canopy Hinge Designs
Robert,
Sorry for the delay. The hinge parts for the canopy is 4 ea. 12”x1”x1/4” black anodized aluminum pieces of flat plate. I can eject the canopy with 4 quick disconnects.

Re: Canopy Hinge Designs
Not really my design, Vern. I see some distinct mechanical and critical stress problems, but I don’t have the energy to critique it right now.
Cheers,
Jay

Re: Canopy Hinge Designs
Jay.. maybe your design? My fuselage has the forward hinge from a previous builder.. not staying with that at all!! I live in the Midwest and the thought of a large clear "sail" just waiting to catch

Robert---------- A bit different than plans, but preinstalled cable ends from ACS going to the cable joiners at the fuselage break and then to the two clevis ends at the rudder

Re: Canopy Hinge Designs
Rob,
My thinking was if the engine was alight, where would the flames go when I opened the canopy.
My TriQ had the scissor lift when it came to me, it now has forward

Canopy Hinge Designs
My Quickie came with these weird corners between the fuselage and canopy ...
... and I am sure thats the design because the canopy was supposed to be side hinged. Well I am not a fan of this, had it

Re: Rudder cables?
So plan calls for 3/23 7x19 wires, doesn't state if stainless or galvinized but since I get a good deal on marine products I went with stainless.
Now I need to figure out how to swage the ends on that
