I built my Tri-Q2 originally with the LS-1 canard and flew it 300 hrs
before the Revmaster gave it up. It is now a Tri-Q200 with 20 hrs.

Hi Tim,
just be aware that the LS-1 canard is not automatically a "plug and
play" item.
It would be wise to check that someone has done the calcs/flown for a
VW powered LS-1 equipped Q2.

I do have a "kit"...of sorts. I purchased the fuselage shells, bulkheads,
canopy etc from Jeff LeTempt. I was specifically looking for GU templates
and was going to build it and then put on

Mark Waddelow designed a standard 200" LS1 sparless canard solely for use with the tri gear configuration and presented all his data to the Q group for their own evaluation and free use.

Yaa,,hoooold on a second here, you were mentioning that you had an O200 with magnetos, right?
In that case you have a slightly different scenario than the guys with electric battery/generator

Sam, I think Mr. Wadlow was working on extensions for the main wing and I thought he did it in the GU form. As I said in a previous post it has been 25 years and my memory is fading.

Yes Sam. I was not nearly clear in communicating. The spar of
course is the back-bone of the wing. Were it not for the canard
serving double-duty of landing gear, the spar "could be" somewhat
less

I have sent out several copies over the years to people but I no longer have the text in my data

I don't know of any data to support the statement that the spar is only used
for landing. I wouldn't bet my life on that theory.

My Q (N56DW) was built with the boxSpar LS1. It was Done by James Doyle and he could give you more info on it, though I do know that it has 900+ hours on it, though it was converted to TriGear

Is your engine a Revmaster, because if it is Revmaster is in CA and sells any part that you need. I switched to heads with automotive plugs, which cost about $650.00. I ran my engine
