Re: Tailspring
I'm interested in a tail spring. If possible I prefer a tailspring that is
a little longer, then cut to the length you want.
I don't like how the tail "spring" was done on the project I took
over.

Re: Tailspring
Did I mention that was Phil Lankford with a "k"?
Alright, the whole point of selecting an appropriate material is to get the
desired properties. I am aware that 4130 is a hardenable material.

Lengthened tailspring
Diverging slightly, has anyone considered lengthening the tailspring (by perhaps 1ft) in order to further improve ground stability?

Re: Tailspring
It would be nice to get more dampening in the tailspring, since too
much spring can cause the plane to bounce back and forth front to back
on the runway (during which time you're along for the ride).
