You should not be the one to talk about bias. I think there will be more
safe hours out there with an eglass tail spring than there are with steel.

Can you remind me again about your tailspring. Is just standard off the shelf solid 4130 x 5/8" steel rod or is it heavy wall tubing, etc.?

How long is the composite tail spring? I would submit that in a nose-over where-after the Q falls back on it's tail, there would be too much energy for the composite spring to absorb.

The issue is that when you reach the overload condition, what breaks?
in other words, what is is the failure mode?
Next question is how easy is it to fix?

Actually, with a light weight aluminum tail spring, my nose over resulted in an easily fixed (4 layers of glass inside and outside) tail cone buckle and a bent tail spring.
