and I flew to Emporia, and had a great time I might add, we were
talking about it on the way home. The one thing that bothered

Discussing new locations TW fly-in (Roger, Roger that, Jim!!)
Hi Bob,
There have been 4 or 5 people bring this (some by private e-mail) pre or
post weekend Oshkosh suggestion up and I think we should now give this
very heavy consideration.

A few thoughts on moving or combining events:
1) The "Mountain States Fly-in" is now an Engine-heads forum. Nothing
wrong with that, but it's not a Tandem Wing event any longer. However, the

I'd like to repeat a suggestion I made maybe 10 years ago. Why not schedule the Field of Dreams for the weekend before or after Oshkosh. This would let the people with a long way to travel kill two

I disagree with trying to squash the smaller events. I don't think that the smaller events detract from the Field of Dreams. When Spring comes, I am ready for a Quickie event. I always look forward

One of the reasons I haven't made the Livermore trip is the timing right
after Oshkosh. It's always a big deal getting everything ready, then

Jim,
Yes, I understand that and I agree with you on it, I'd too like to see one larger TW fly-in. Like
others have said it will probably not negate others wanting smaller Quickie "get togethers" in

Checking out new locations TW annual fly-in (OSH)
Larry,
Do you know if they charge for this and if so how much. That is a
factor! I do think it is a good place to have it, and they do have
cheaper fuel prices. Cheeze heads like their beer so we know

Hi Jim,
I thought the same thing when the Don Stewart setup the Mountain States
event, then someone did the one in Matoon, IL and then the Livermore
event, so forth. You can't blame these folks

David, Spud and group,
The problem is; with the 4 or 5 tandem winged events around the
country, we are tending to fractionalize these events. If we are
looking for a better turnout and better

Q guys,
I think we should look at the criteria we are trying to meet with the changing of our TW fly-in
location. If the location doesn't meet the needs and criteria of the list than hold off

Too many fly-ins?
Just thinking about America for a minit, it seems to me that as time passes
the best product rises to the top. Witness Oshkosh.
A monopoly discourages creative competition.

Has anyone considered OSH? It is upper Midwest. I have been in there in
the "off season" (meaning not the last week in July), and found that it is a

Well what can I say, Oshkosh is the best central location for all the US and
Canada's
aircraft Fly-in's.
I am not saying this because I have my shop, 100 miles straight south.
