Re: Power and speed curves for the O-200?
See http://www.geocities.com/fly-home/slo/ for a test I did with my Q200. I got 43 mpg at 123 mph 2.68 Gal per hour (about as slow as I care to go).
I've never flown an arrow either but if 10 is

Chris,
Many of us have alot of time in very sofisticated and much larger
aircraft but the Q isn't like any of them. Because you can fly
a "Turbo Arrow" doesn't ensure you can jump in this one and

Re: Q1 drawings?
Hello Stuart
What do you consider fast?
A Q1 with a Jabaru 2200, Rotax 503, a 65hp VW (and maybe an HKS engine)
will do the VNE of 145mph (some say 150).
There are only so many BTUs in a pound of

Jon Finley flew a Q1 with a 1600 -1800 VW and it was a rocket. That's as heavy as you would want it.

Chris,
I think I remember Quickie Aircraft doing some endurance flying. I don’t
remember the exact results. I do know that they once a CAFÉ 400 race and
was crowned the most efficient

Power and speed curves for the O-200?
Anyone ever seen a graph showing the difference between different RPM
settings equated to engine power and fuel consumption over time for a
wide range of airspeed? Curious how much added range could

Re: Q1 drawings?
Thanks. Found the original build manual on pdf there. May get the deluxe CD.
Other than Rotax 503's what are people using for engines for the Q1? Any 4 cycle choices?
Anybody building Q1's or Q200's

Q1 drawings?
Hi I am a new Member now flying a glider and '53 C-180. I would like
to build something small, fast and fuel efficient. No need for 2
seats. Any place to look at drawings and photos of Q1?

Re: Standard quickie landing gear vs tricycle.
Oh come on.... I'd say the Tri are good for maybe 170 mph and the Q200 maybe 210 mph, that adds up to 40 mph difference. The Tri also weighs 120 lb more so the rate of climb is way less. I get 32
