Re: Oil Temperature N275CH
Q-200s do not need oil coolers.
Oil coolers add unneeded weight, have a leak potential and rob space.
The baffling needs to be correct. 235 is way too high from just taxing
around. E-mail me some

Hi Jim,
Nice to here from you. I'm still plugging along with my non- alternative Revmaster (420 hours). We had a great time at Oshkosh. You would have loved our campsite....lots of shade.

Say Mike, that is good news. Wish I had seen your post on your pipes before
I went out and had the standard Q pipes ceramic coated. Now I am doing the
individual pipes also.

Re: Building philosophy (was Engines)
Mike,
Just make sure what you do engine-wise is good and solid. I have about 90
seconds (total time) in my Q200 (N275CH) where fuel starvation let gravity
get the upper hand. I managed to get it

Re: Oil Temperature N275CH
Mike,
I don't have a picture at this point but my best guess the outlet is per
plans. Maybe this helps.
Also, where do you have your oil cooler mounted? I have looked in Aircraft
Spruce for oil

Building philosophy (was Engines)
Jim, let me put this a different way:
If you will only use what already has "a gazillion hours of proven
performance" you will end up with a Cessna-150, a Piper Cherokee or a
Boeing 747. You won't

Re: Oil Temperature N275CH
Kevin,
I flew for 20 years with those pipes unwrapped so don't go thinking you need to change them right away. Don't wrap steel pipes.
One question, can you take a picture of your air outlet? I cut

Not usually without making some other change.
With the Q-2, a change of airfoil and construction of the canard is how you end
up with a higher gross.

I just get this after my post on oil temps!
You didn't say how hot the outside air was that day...
I'll assume your engine is not broke in yet.
I don't know what exhaust system your using.

Allan,
I agree. When you get the Q2 and then your Balistic Chute kinks
worked out and have tested them sucessfully let us know. I'll get
inline for one. Beats hitting the dirt at 100-120K.

Steve,
I bought new pistons and pins and cylinders from Lycon. They
polished and ported the intake and exhaust cylinders, balanced and
ceramic coated the pistons and installed in New Superior
