Larry,
You should be able to lift off the canard at 65 to 70 mph. Try reducing
power to 1900 rpm as you reach 60 mph and use back stick until it lifts off.
You can then reduce power slowly to get it

Welcome!
I'm on my second Q1. Between building and flying my first Q1 (20Hp Onan)
in 1980 I have built a KitFox IV, owned a Bellanca Turbo Viking, A36
Bonanaza and flown 54 fixed wing types.

Hi Larry,
70mph certainly will not get my airplane airborne and I have NEVER seen
that low of an indicated airspeed in flight (with my GU Q2). Sure would
be nice though.
2/3 of total travel??

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused! This may be why my wife only allows me to have one aircraft at a time.

Re: Revmaster stripped spark plug
While Heli-coils may repair the damage there is a better product for the
repair of VW's stripped plug holes - especially the 1/2' reach ones. Look
for someone that can put in Time-Sert brand inserts.

James, I am confused. Please un-confuse me.
You have TWO planes with bad canards? One with a broken LS-1 spar and one
with a GU suffering from fuel leaks?
Am I reading this right?

Thanks for the info.
Where do you set your reflexor for pilot only:
TO?
Landing?
I understand that the reflexor should go to full up after throttle idle.

Larry,
