Try http://www.contegointernational.com/. I tried the product, and could not get plywood to burn using a burnsite torch held 2 inches away for 15 minutes.

Re: LS1 elevator trailing edge
My plans are in the hangar, so I can't be certain, but I believe you fill in
the end gap with flox. You are correct, the end of the elevator should be
squared off - that's the nature of that airfoil.

Re: Q-200 firewall and fuselage stiffeners
Larry,
Thanks for your reply. I was unable to view the picture; I think the Q-list does not allow pics.
Would the stiffener be horizontal or vertical; 1/4"x 1 or 2" plywood; 2,3,4 layers

Re: Firewall butout for bulkhead connecter
Kevin, What I am doing is using stainless towel bars, They are various sizes
1/2" througn 1" tubes with about a 2 to 3" flange. I can slip the wire
through the tubes and fill it with fire caulking

Sam and Ron,
Ron, In my engineering days I have done a bunch of power stuff, I don't
see a problem in that area.
Sam, thanks for the info. The book is already on order.

LS1 elevator trailing edge
Builders of LS1 canards, I have a question... The template is
confusing in that it is unclear how you achieve the glass to glass
trailing edge bond. Where the ailerons and rudder have a "joggle"

Keven, In my minds eyes I don't see a problem with the hole, but what fire
rating is the phenolic? also by making plug-ins you are adding more
resistance to the electric system. I would check alot

Kevin, there is no good reason to do this. Use a small opening and pass the
wires through it. Only cut holes in the firewall as a last result.
Have you purchased the AeroElectric

Thanks all for the input. Looks like it shouldn't cost as ;much as I had
expected. Been pretty busy recently and naturally this group has been quite
active. May take a few more days to get caught

You will not need the plans built firewall stiffeners as you are taking your engine mount
loads into the firewall and fuselage differently using the Corvair.
If you reference the photo I

Re: Swing away mount
I doubt the Q would fall on its side. The engine does not move that much as I could only
swing mine out about 45 degrees. I was enough to get at all the accessories and I highly
recommend it.
