Seems I recall something about not increasing the lift on the main wing.
Since winglets not only reduce drag, but also increase lift that would
probably be why.

Jump to light speed
Pat,
I have no idea what the designer used, but using TAS is a good idea.
Would that be in knots, or not knots....I think most guys like statue
mph, but I don't care.
What about everyone else?

The V Speed airspeed is IAS, and for most little guys, in MPH.
The flight plan airspeed is TAS, and in Knots.
I even like to use KIAS for a lot of my performance calculations, as I
haven't

The Abilene show is probably 3/4 the size of Cranfield in airplanes and a lot
less vendor booths. This is a best guess as I used to attend when it was in
Kerrville, TX and have not been to it

Sorry to have set off such a horrible diatribe. I wasn't overstating what I saw. I was simply made the comment, I read 215 mph on my GPS and also stated I'm sure I had a tailwind. That's it!
