Re: Revmaster - Splitting the case
Thanks everyone.
Dave:
Do you have any pictures you could share? Does the aluminum "nose bearing" come off with the hub and crank as one assembly when you do this?
Hot Wings:
Just ordered that

Re: Revmaster - Splitting the case
Remove the flywheel and prop hub bolts before splitting the case. Look up VW Flywheel Lock.
It is nothing more than a little device that bolts on the upper case bolts and engages the starter ring

I just split the case on my Revmaster, no need to remove the prop hub. I ground down a socket to get a thin walled socket to remove the flywheel bolts. I don't know what the seal sizes

Revmaster - Splitting the case
Anyone here have experience tearing down a Revmaster? I've gotten down to the flywheel and can't tell if there is anything special I need to do with the front bearing before I continue on; the manual

Re: Plugs
Hi Mike (Dwyer),
Can you offer some suggestions on the MA3SPA, I have to set mine up…
I don’t have it to hand but I seem to recall the supplied instructions were a little light.
Thanks, Tim

Finally got a moment to watch this.
Very fun to watch.
Thank you Sam and Peter for making this.
Obviously Dave D. is trying to slow him down with that aluminum case suggestion. :)

640 empty, 12 gal fuel = 72 lbs, 20 lb ballast, me = 174, so 906lb roughly.

Flight report
Beautiful day to day altho it started out at 60F which is 10 degrees below 0 for a Floridian...
So I had done some carb work, changed the oil, and new spark plugs and wanted to test em out.

I hear that the Wright Brothers did not have an engineering degree either. Guess that’s why they started out with a canard!
Keep us posted (with a picture now and then) on your Franken-project

It helps that I remain the Village Idiot when it comes to building airplanes. 5 decades at it and still don't know anything. The good part is I still get
inspired by folks that do..🙂
