Re: Need current emails
Hello Doug:
This is kind of like asking," If you don't get this e-mail, then send me an e-mail and let me know." This is quite a dilemma. Good luck. Cheers, Phil Lankford (e-mail works)

Flight report
Kevin Boddicker <trumanst@...>
19 Dec 06
Flight today was to perform maneuvers at 1196# TO weight. TO from 17. Wind 220 at 10. Gathered a little more speed on the ground before rotation. Very smooth TO, with little tendency for the nose to pitch up. Had the reflexor set at aprox 1/4" TE up. The last flight I had it set 3/8"TE up, and the nose wanted to pitch to high, causing the airspeed to be low and the plane to feel mushy. This TO was much better. Climb to 3500'. Flew around some, to get the feel. Preformed climbs and descents. Would share the info, but left the paper in the cockpit! Power off pitch buck was just above 80 MPH. Reflexor set the same as TO, just so I have a slight nose heavy setting while approaching pitch buck. There was also a noticeable buffet before the nose fell through. Very gentle buck. As I held the stick back each buck got more pronounced. At cruise speed I nosed the plane over, kept the cruise reflexor setting, and flutter tested to 200 MPH. the plane felt very solid al the way. Looked at the tach, and was turning 2900 RPM, so I reduced that. Eased back on the stick to come out of the dive. I was quite surprised at how long it took to bleed off the airspeed. Then on to 60° bank turns, right and left at cruise speed. Very nice. Nothing unexpected. Next flight will be at 1246#. Kevin Boddicker Tri Q 200 N7868B 40 hours Luana, IA. P.S. NO! I have not signed it off yet. Had too much fun along the way. Some testing yet to do. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

There is a Tri Q conversion book that came with the conversion kit. Don't know if there are any out there in electronic format or not. Maybe Scott Swing at Velocity might have something. Kevin Boddicker Tri Q 200 N7868B 40hours Luana, IA.

Larry
We were the shop that built 107 of the main gear struts and the wheel pants and struts covers, ect. Scott built the nose gear. Still have a copy of the conversion instruction. We built up 3 of the Q2 to Tri-Q fuselages. Still have the finished LS1 Canards, Regular Q2 and Tri-Q, with the Graphite spar. Their is a fuselage built up, with the Tri-Q conversion main gear mount installed. Has canopy and tail installed. The fuselage can be used as a Q2 or a Tri-Q. Have many other part for the Q2. Write me for the updated prices. Larry Fitzgerald _www.fitzair.net_ (http://www.fitzair.net)

Flight test
Kevin Boddicker <trumanst@...>
17 Dec 06
Flight today was to increase the weight another 50#. Full fuel, 150# PAX seat. CG at 45.06". Range 42 to 47.2" Wind was 330 at 8. TO from 35 was extended, but rotation was very smooth. Should have gotten up more speed on the ground. After liftoff the elevator was mushy. Nosed it over and picked up more speed. Climb out at 110 MPH was about 500 FPM. Climb to 3000' temps were fine. Oil temp did not get above 175°F the whole flight. Trimmed up for cruise, and flew around for 1.5 hours. Made an approach and low pass at two other airports in my test flight area. I will do pitch bucks and climbs the next flight. Today was for fun. Remember "Education and Recreation". Landing on 35 was a touch and go first, then full stop. After burning off fifty+ pounds of fuel, both touchdowns were very smooth. It lands better heavier than it does nearly empty. The nose is not as heavy on landing. Very FUN day. The last flight I felt like I was not ready to do maneuvers, as I did not have a good feel for the extra weight. After todays flight I will be ready for pitch bucks, and other tests. Re: Revmaster R-3000 cost
Panzera <panzera@...>
Pat,$10k What do you think of it so far?I think it could make a huge difference in the LSA industry if Joe would ever bring it to market fully. Could you imagine the RV-12 or even Cessna's LSA with this engine in it rather than the Rotax? Other than that, the engineering is top-notch. Not as pretty as the Jab, but not nearly as expensive either. Is the story on the CH601Yes and no. Several issues back we did an exhaustive article on the engine, http://www.ContactMagazine.com/backissu.html and the most recent issue has an article on the acquisition of the 601. It was only yesterday that I put the two physically together. My plans are to forage ahead and have the first flying R-3000. I'll be keeping a log on our website and keep our readers updated with the progress. Pat

Pat,
How much is Rev getting for the R-3000? What do you think of it so far? Is the story on the CH601 installation done already and or what issue? DH
