Thanks Charlie and Gary. I'll order that high performance rocker shaft and see how it goes next time I change the oil and plugs. Looks like they eliminate the clips all together.

Charlie has posted what I had been thinking about.  I thought I had included that link, put a computer issue messed with my comment.   I duplicated the store bought parts on my own.  As you have found, the wave washers are prone to breaking, eventually so are the spring clips.

Looks like a 40's dance at 8 pm.  Before that it looks like perhaps a Vance formation flying into WDG and landing for static set up so the public can look over the Vance special aircraft (probably the special painted dignitary Airforce aircraft,  Only guessing).
 
We are currently set up for the evening dinner at Cherokee Land and Cattle at around 5 pm so we can come back out to join the festivities before the 8 pm dance
 
Pilots should be around mid afternoon to pull our planes out for Vance set up.  We can tie down outside until after the dance and the pull them inside over night.  With Vance aircraft and our aircraft static it should prove to be quite an event for everyone to see.  The new young pilots will be "on point" when they see our aircraft line up.
Get em checked out and get em here!  You won't be sorry!  More info on the URL below.
