Re: Quickie Q2 parts for sale

Frankenbird Vern

Possibly Pat Panzera had a Q2 collection. Hanford California. EAA chapter 376 is the local and they of course know the
family. I know for certain he had two Task Dragonfly kits. The family is settling the Estate now, Ian. Pat passed away last week
from a difficult battle with cancer, but he wanted to see the items go to those that would complete them.

His Son, Anthony, is assisting in the task.  There is a facebook group dedicated to Pat and that might be one way
 to contact the Panzera family.

Carbon Fiber Tailspring

Edited

I tried using Bill's cst link below and couldn't find anything in a large enough diameter. This is the closest thing I could find on Google?
https://www.graphitestore.com/carbon-fiber-rod-0-750dia?custcol_length=4

Does anyone remember what diameter the stock rod was? I'm only guessing it's in the .75 to 1 inch diameter range.

It looks like his source for the pultruded rod was CST - The Composites Store, Inc. 16330 Harris Rd., Hgr. #2 Tehachapi, CA 93561  Their website is https://cstsales.com/ ..
Now the question I have is was it the "plain pultruded rod, or was it the high modulus rod?

Great Zoom!  Matthew is an animal and really sharp technician!  He has been in Enid a couple of times and it is a joy to listen to him talk.  He has used this aircraft to n so many ways more than the average Q pilot!
Thank you Matthew for sharing with us and thank you Sammy for producing these videos!
Also would like to congratulate you on finding a pretty wife!  I looked at your pictures in Oshosh!  Ya did good!

Matthew.. I really enjoyed your Q tour. Thank you sir! Some of the folks you worked with at Scaled
I also had some contact with when I was in Department 45 at Beech back in the early 1980's.

Your flight to Barrow and back is particularly interesting to me. Not many make a trek like that one.

The composites source you spoke of would be valuable info... I'm sure we can send some business
to them. I will be..especially the specialized resin. I'm working a lot more in Kevlar 49 and Carbon
than most and vacuum infusion is my preferred process. I know..it sucks but I like it anyway. :-)

As you said..the materials and items are specialized and outside of the R&D fabrication world, not easy
to procure.

Hi Guys,

I flew this morning and tried a new camera location. On the top of the right main gear fairing. I kind of like it. It is not forward facing, but because of the wide angle you see forward and also off to the side. Maybe 45 degrees. Good for watching what is going on under the plane. In the longer takeoff to cruise video, you can see where I close the radiator doors at about 4:30 in the video. Speed goes up 5-7 mph as a result of that. I made a pattern entry and landing video, and another one so you can find my house, when you come fly into my valley.
