Show of hands for the FOD
Guys & Gals. We are trying to determine how many buckets of rose pedals to
be cast about by young maidens, for us to order, for our upcoming Tandem Wing event on Sept. 7, 8, & 9. http://southernillinoisfieldofdreams.blogspot.com/ Please let us know if and when you are planning to arrive. Also, I talked to the hotel owner and he said to be sure to book rooms by calling them directly, not via the Internet. Don't know why, but that's what he said. Click on the link above for hotel information. Also - if you know someone who is a Tandem Wing guy/gay who may not be aware of this event, please forward this info over to them. We are looking forward to seeing all of you. Sam & Sandy Hoskins

Livermore
Paul Buckley
Hi Guys.
I would like to thank Sam and Allan for their hosting of the fly-in at Livermore this last weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed it, those hotdogs were great, and it was over far too quickly! It was also great meeting those whom I had only known by name and Q-list contact, and getting the chance to look at their 'planes ....... Allan, Jim P. and John F in particular. ......... and then there was that very nice, bright yellow, Longeze belonging to Ray Macrae. Good to meet you, too, Ray (BTW I bought one of those Samsung tablets from Cosco, how the h***l do you charge the darned thing? And I would love to meet up with you and get you to load some of your fantastic flying videos on to my tablet ..... pleeeese!!) All in all, a fantastic, memorable social event ...... thanks to all. Were you able to get the airframe and engine hours over 100 since we last wrote to each other? I am still interested. Tandem Wing Field of Dreams, little over a week away.
The annual Tandem Wing Field of Dreams Fly-In event is a little more than a
week away and YOU are invited. Please check out the web site for all the information, including the schedule, travel & lodging, and hangar space information. http://southernillinoisfieldofdreams.blogspot.com/ Here is the Saturday schedule: - 8:00 Hangar Breakfast - hosted by the Southern Illinois University student organization Rotor & Wing Association. All are welcome to fly or drive in. - 10:00 Sam Hoskins will demonstrate the techniques of using the epoxy-wipe method of finishing mold-less composite structures. This method does away with so many of the time wasting methods from the days of old. - 11:00 Q-200 builder/pilot Sanjay Dhall will be giving a presentation on his very thorough flight testing program. Sanjay made the plan, then flew his plan, in a very professional manner. I'm sure you will enjoy seeing the right way to do it. - 12:30 Working lunch. Introductions, awards, etc. - 1:30 Engine cowlings off - a great show and tell. Photographs are allowed. Addvice taken and given with a grain of salt. - 2:30 Rides? - 6:30 World famous barbecue ribs at 17th Street Bar & Grill, in Marion <http://www.17thstreetbarbecue.com/Locations.htm#Marion>. Informal open seating in the back room. We sure hope to see you here! Sam & Sandy Hoskins http://southernillinoisfieldofdreams.blogspot.com/

A full report for the newsletter will be coming soon, so stay tuned! Sam and i, Alan, want to thank all those who attended and made our fly-in the great time of sharing and encouragement that we all enjoyed! Now, let's all support Sam Hoskins and the annual Mid-West Field of Dreams, that will be here in just two weeks, no time at all.? Thanks again, one and all. Alan T. and Sam K.

Re: Q1 For Sale in Boise, Idaho
Has this plane flown?
Currently airworthy? How many hours in flight? How many hours on clock? Has this engine in this aircraft experienced any engine out conditions/deadstick landings? Any structural repairs? It would be great to hear about some success stories with the Kawasaki 440 powerplant. Just curious.
