Livermore

Paul Buckley

Hi Guys.

I would like to thank Sam and Allan for their hosting of the fly-in at Livermore
this last weekend.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, those hotdogs were great, and it was over far too
quickly!
It was also great meeting those whom I had only known by name and Q-list
contact, and getting the chance to look at their 'planes ....... Allan, Jim P.
and John F in particular.
......... and then there was that very nice, bright yellow, Longeze belonging to
Ray Macrae. Good to meet you, too, Ray (BTW I bought one of those Samsung
tablets from Cosco, how the h***l do you charge the darned thing? And I would
love to meet up with you and get you to load some of your fantastic flying
videos on to my tablet ..... pleeeese!!)
All in all, a fantastic, memorable social event ...... thanks to all.

Q1 has a Kawasaki 440 2/A, runs awesome on a fresh top end rebuild and is ready to fly. $7000 or make offer. I am posting it on Barnstormer's today. It's on Boise Craigslist now.

Why would any want a vw engine in one of these little aircraft. Seems balancing would be a real problem. Then a heavy aircraft.

Tandem Wing Field of Dreams, little over a week away.

Sam Hoskins

The annual Tandem Wing Field of Dreams Fly-In event is a little more than a
week away and YOU are invited. Please check out the web site for all the
information, including the schedule, travel & lodging, and hangar space
information. http://southernillinoisfieldofdreams.blogspot.com/

Here is the Saturday schedule:

- 8:00 Hangar Breakfast - hosted by the Southern Illinois
University student organization Rotor & Wing Association. All are welcome
to fly or drive in.
- 10:00 Sam Hoskins will demonstrate the techniques of using the
epoxy-wipe method of finishing mold-less composite structures. This
method does away with so many of the time wasting methods from the days of
old.
- 11:00 Q-200 builder/pilot Sanjay Dhall will be giving a
presentation on his very thorough flight testing program. Sanjay made the
plan, then flew his plan, in a very professional manner. I'm sure you will
enjoy seeing the right way to do it.
- 12:30 Working lunch. Introductions, awards, etc.
- 1:30 Engine cowlings off - a great show and tell. Photographs
are allowed. Addvice taken and given with a grain of salt.
- 2:30 Rides?
- 6:30 World famous barbecue ribs at 17th Street Bar & Grill, in
Marion <http://www.17thstreetbarbecue.com/Locations.htm#Marion>.
Informal open seating in the back room.

We sure hope to see you here!

Livermore 2012

millenniumflier@...

Hello Fellow Pilots and Builders,

This year's Livermore Tandem-Wing Fly-in is now history, and what a nice time was had by one and all.? We have just learned that the Johnson Brothers have just pulled in to Ogden, so they are home safely. We sure hope one and all made it home safely as well.

A full report for the newsletter will be coming soon, so stay tuned!

Sam and i, Alan, want to thank all those who attended and made our fly-in the great time of sharing and encouragement that we all enjoyed!

Now, let's all support Sam Hoskins and the annual Mid-West Field of Dreams, that will be here in just two weeks, no time at all.? Thanks again, one and all.

Alan T. and Sam K.

Rene Robertson <q2robertson@...>

Hi Dave,
Don't be sorry, it's all good and we're excited to get the BD-4 in the air.  Feel free to come any time.  We're not in a hurry to sell and who knows I may still have her for quite a while if we don't find the right person.  So far I'm still flying her weekly and just flew came back from the Chilliwack airshow.  Also had the opportunity to fly in the 50th anniversary Abbotsford airshow as a formation team with Dave Wall the week before, what a blast!

Sorry Gary, I haven't had a chance to write you about my experiences with the heavy duty Al case and heads.  Will do so soon.

Cheers,
Rene

Has this plane flown?
Currently airworthy?
How many hours in flight?
How many hours on clock?
Has this engine in this aircraft experienced any engine out conditions/deadstick landings?
Any structural repairs?

It would be great to hear about some success stories with the Kawasaki 440 powerplant.

Just curious.

Thanks,

Phil Lankford
