Livermore Tandem Wing Flyin
Sam Kittle
We are only two weeks away from the Livermore Tandem Wing Flyin Aug 26-28.
We need an accurate count of who's coming, so if you haven't done so already, please let us know. Check out our official website www.trinitylyricopera.org/livermore.flyin for more information. FLASH UPDATE on hotel accommodations! Alan has just discovered that the discount code needed to secure rooms at the Extended Stay hotel adjacent to the airport wasn't properly added to their computer system, so if you haven't called yet to make your reservation, be sure to ask for the "Aircraft Association" discount. That omission was corrected yesterday. However, this has resulted in some GOOD news, which is that they are now giving us an even better rate, $61.39 a night. There are still plenty of rooms available for that weekend, but just be sure, call soon to secure your room at this new rate. If you have already made a reservation, they'll give you the new rate, ask for "Courtney," she's a sweetheart! Best regards, Sam Kittle & Alan Thayer

Click here to see all about it: http://southernillinoisfieldofdreams.blogspot.com/ and be sure to click on all the header tabs. Besides having big runways, MWA is also served by Cape Air, which connects to St. Louis Lambert airport. As I said, this year's event is open to all composite tandem-wing type aircraft. We are also making this a project swap meet and so, I am encouraging people to bring projects to sell. If you are interested in purchasing a partially complete project (or even a virgin one) or if you want to unload that garage dust-magnet, this may be your big chance. Having said that, there is no guarantee that we will have buyers, but let's give it a shot. I ran into a couple of guys at Oshkosh that have virgin kits and others with projects at various stages. To advertise your project on the Tandem Wing blog listed above, shoot me an e-mail at sam.hoskins@... and put "Fly-In For Sale" in the subject line. Give a concise description of what you have for sale, and I will list it here. You may also attach two photos. Please only list things that will actually be here in Marion. If you decide not to bring it, let me know and I'll pull the listing. KMWA is just off I-57 for easy towing or trailers and the like. Since this is not Ebay and I don't want to start bidding wars, I will not list the sale price here. Having said that, I am sure there will be some good deals to be had. I bumped into a couple of folks at Oshkosh who had already reserved rooms, so get them while they're hot! Please forward this e-mail to anyone who might be interested. See you there. I scotch guarded (water runr right off) an old bed sheet and tie the front corners to the sparow strainers and the back edges across the bottom with a small nylon sting. Total cost maybe $1. See: http://www.warnerair.com/q200/images/start.jpg Mike Q200 N3QP

If it helps on pricing to order multiples I would join in. I found a business somewhere out not too far from the Livermore area that makes custom canopy covers, but they needed an aircraft onsite to fit to and they seemed unusually high priced. Since they didn't seem really customer oriented I went no further with them. LJ French Short & simple from my mobile

Cool! I was going to try to find Sam a picture of my plane with the canopy cover on. The picture Neal references below IS my plane with the canopy cover on! Thanks for finding that Neal!
I second Neal's comments below. Cover the NACA vents and the slit's under the wings (I can't remember of you have those or not Sam.
