Allan: Every Rotax manual I have seen says 6500rpm for the 447, 503, 582 at their specified HP rating, and 6800rpm for the 618, for 1min 30sec only. In a sled, the same stock engine is run to 7950rpm.

Phil: Not every one here use's a 0-200 in a Q1/Q2. Were talking about stock, 2 stroke engine seizures, a Safety issue, not about High Performance Racing engines. So I guess, everyone flying a non stan

No Pat, I didn't miss the point. Fast in level flight, is fast. We weren't taking about Rapid Decents. As long as you stay with in the recommended RPM range, you should be OK. One plane with say a Rot
