I really wish that were the case, as this engine only has 3 hours TT. Here is the reply I received from Revmaster Aviation on Engine Serial #2343. "According to the files the crankshaft serial number is 2509 this indicates that this is a cast crankshaft and should be replaced and that there is no indication in the file that the unit has been changed. It should have a duel ignition system, the type of magneto equipped should be D 2000 Bendix. We advise that the Posa carburetor should be replaced with a newer Revflow injector carburetor unit. If you have anymore questions regarding this engine please contact us at anytime via this email address revavia@... or by phone 1-760-244-3074. thanks tom Steve <sham@...> wrote: Tom, If you have a Revmaster 2100d, it already has a fordged crank! Let me introduce myself. First of all, I don't own a Quickie, but am considering the purchase of a complete kit from someone locally in the near future. I wasn't to keen on the Q2 design for a number of years. Obviously, that has changed.....I guess it just took me some getting used to. I do own a Fisher Horizon 1 that is 40% complete. Right now, I am planning to put a Revmaster R2100D engine in it. For those of you who are into the composite designs, I'll just say the Horizon is similar to an Aeronca Champ. The high wing design has a little (LOT) more drag than the Quickies and it is considerably slower (cruise 85 - 90 MPH) The higher RPMs needed to develop enough HP may not work as well as the A65 Continental. Therefore, I may end up mounting an A65 to the Fisher Firewall and using the Revmaster for a Quickie project. I was always under the impression that the Q designs could be ordered with Revmaster engines. If that is true, I could use the one I have in the Q2 my neighbor has for sale. Before I can do anything with this Revmaster engine though, I need to change the crankshaft over to a forged crank and put a Rev-Flo carb on it. I see many of you have put Continental and Lycoming engines in. That leads me to think there may be Revmaster parts out there for sale. If there are, please drop me an e mail. Sorta in a quandry here guys. Gonna keep moving forward with gluing wood and stringing control cables while I'm waiting for a clear direction to go with this engine dilema. Thanks in advance. Tom, where are you located? My best advice is to read the Q-list archives and consider buying the back issues of the newsletter and subscribing to the newsletter. Small investment, but all of your questions will be answered. Revmaster will still work in a Q2.
