Flight Report

Kevin Boddicker

All,
Just a short report of todays flight. Got up early to fly to DVN, the home of this years FOD Sept. 22-24.

DVN is the home of EAA Chapter 75. The first Sat. of every month they host coffee and rolls for anyone that wants to attend.

Launched at 7:45 AM and the air was smooth as silk. Climbed to 2500’ and still smooth. As a matter of fact, it was eerily smooth all the way, about 130 miles. Even the descent to pattern altitude was smooth, as was base and final.

Met Paul Fisher there and had said coffee and rolls. Spoke about the FOD, and who had committed this year. We have 13 planes the plan to arrive, as long as the weather cooperates. Got a new chapter hat that Paul had been holding for me, fired up and headed for DEH. Again the air was smooth above 2000’. I did climb to 3500’ just for fun. Not only was the air smooth, but the vents felt like I had AC. Went through a few bumps as I passed a front, but not too bad. Landed at DEH and ended the fun for today.
A perfect day for flying, good company at DVN, a good time was had by all.

Hope to see everyone at DVN for FOD. That includes you Jimmehy!

All the best,

There was a lot of "smooth" talk up to the point of landing.  Hummmm
